Background Knowledge Of the Friends Of Allah

THE FRIENDS OF ALLAH (AWLIYYAH) AS DESCRIBED IN THE HOLY QUR'AN

The devotion of the Awliya Allah

The friends of Allah have been described in detail in the Holy Qur'an. The quality of their Taqwa (reverence) and Iman (faith), their actions, their worship, their character, their steadfastness, and the position that they are held in by Allah, can be understood from the descriptions found in the Holy Qur'an. Awliya Allah have been given various titles in the Holy Qur'an. Each title reflects a certain quality, which makes the wali beloved in the sight of Allah.

Qur'an. Each title reflects a certain quality, which makes the wali beloved in the sight of Allah. As their qualities are so numerous and each one describes the manner in which they love Allah, likewise, Allah has conferred many titles upon them.

The believers, are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts and when His verses are recited unto them, they increase their faith; and put their trust in their Lord. Who establish As-Salaat and spend out of that We have provided them. It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness and a generous provision. (8:2-4)

Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; and those who believe in the signs of their Lord, and those who join not anyone in worship as partners with their Lord; and those who give that which they give (charity) with their hearts full of fear because they are sure to return to their Lord; it is these who hasten in good work, and they are foremost in them. (23:56-60)

Abu Hurairah, radiyallahuanhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahualayhi wasallam, said:
“Allah the Almighty has said: ‘Whosoever acts with enmity towards a closer servant of Mine (wali), I will indeed declare war against him. Nothing endears My servant to Me than doing of what I have made obligatory upon him to do. And My servant continues to draw nearer to Me with supererogatory (nawafil) prayers so that I shall love him. When I love him, I shall be his hearing with which he shall hear, his sight with which he shall see, his hands with which he shall hold, and his feet with which he shall walk. And if he asks (something) of Me, I shall surely give it to him, and if he takes refuge in Me, I shall certainly grant him it.’”
[Al-Bukhari]

Allah tells us that His Awliya' (friends and allies) are those who believe and have Taqwa of Allah as He defined them. Every pious, God-fearing person is a friend of Allah, therefore,

﴿لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾

(no fear shall come upon them) from the future horrors they will face in the Hereafter.

﴿وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ﴾

(nor shall they grieve.) over anything left behind in this world. Ibn Jarir recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that Allah's Messenger said:

«إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللهِ عِبَادًا يَغْبِطُهُمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ وَالشُّهَدَاء»

(Among the servants of Allah there will be those whom the Prophets and the martyrs will consider fortunate). It was said: "Who are these, O Messenger of Allah, so we may love them'' He said:

«هُمْ قَوْمٌ تَحَابُّوا فِي اللهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَمْوَالٍ وَلَا أَنْسَابٍ، وُجُوهُهُمْ نُورٌ عَلَى مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ، لَا يَخَافُون إِذَا خَافَ النَّاسُ، وَلَا يَحْزَنُونَ إِذَا حَزِنَ النَّاس»

(These are people who loved one another for the sake of Allah without any other interest like money or kinship. Their faces will be light, upon platforms of light. They shall have no fear (on that Day) when fear shall come upon people. Nor shall they grieve when others grieve.) Then he recited:

﴿أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَآءَ اللَّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

(Behold!! Verily, the Awliya' (friends and allies) of Allah, no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve.)

Christian Maid Reverts in the Hands Of Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi

BIsmillah HIr Rahman NIr Rahim,

We were at our place of resideance in Nairobi and there was a new maid which was at our place of stay and Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi   then asked the maid to come and sit down for a minute as Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi  wanted to know to talk to her and Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi   asked the maid that I want to ask you a few questions firstly what colour skin was Isa Alyahi Islam ( Jesus), she replied Jesus skin colour is white, Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi   said that how can Jesus skin colour be white if he was born in the middle east it is not possible for Jesus to have white skin colour Jesus had dark skin colour, then Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi   asked secondly I have another question is Jesus the son of god, she replied yes Jesus is the son of god, Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi   said Jesus cannot be the son of god, if anyone should be son of god it should be adam and eve why because they were first created so they should be associated partener of God, Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi  god has son or children god is alone and he has no family, the original bibole which first bought down was in romainian language when it was translatred into English this is when it was changed and corrupted, half of it was destroyed and pother half of the information was from mankind which is not the words of god but the words of the people so your original bible with the truth in it has now resased by mankind.

Hazrat Khwaja Shaykh Banaras Owaisi   said that the cross which you have placed in your churches and also around your nexks as necklaces this is also man made aswell as you pray to this and this cannot help you if it was to break it would be of no use, and if it cant help itself then how can this help you in this life and also in the next life the day of judgement

What is Bayah Pledging Allegiance

What is Bayah Pledging Allegiance

Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim

Pledging allegiance, also known as taking bayah or bayt, is a tradition from the times of Beloved Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Once such example of this is when the Noble Companions pledged oath to him under the tree. In this incident, each Companion placed their hand in the hand of the Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and affirmed their faith in the oneness of Allah (tawheed).

This incident is reported in the Holy Qur’an, which states,“Certainly Allah was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muhammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest.”[Qur’an 48:18]

Importance of Bayah to a Shaykh

The Beloved Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,“Whoever dies and did not take an oath of allegiance (to a Muslim leader) has died a death of jahiliyah (ignorance).”[Bukhari, Muslim]

The meaning of taking bayah is to pledge spiritual allegiance & surrender yourself to the supervision of a Murshid/Pir/Shaykh, or spiritual teacher/leader. He leads you to Allah by guiding you through the path of Shar’iah and the teachings of our Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Murshid is he who takes others under his guardianship so that he may help them with their deen, often strengthening their hearts with zikr and good counsel.

Taking bayah also acts as a powerful guard against arrogance and pride, as a mureed (a spiritual disciple, follower, and a seeker who follows the Murshid as his guide on the path of Tasawwuf) must hold complete adab (respect) and humility where his Murshid is concerned. This orders the nafs towards discipline; it is made to recognise its own worth, reflecting upon the pure state of those close to Allah, realising that true honour is in piety only, and understanding that it has no right to be proud. The nafs also learns to obtain knowledge and guidance from one who is greater in faith, causing it to humble itself. This is the way of the Salaf, who would sit at the feet of their Murshid to correct their own characters (akhlaaq) and achieve purity.

Criteria of a True Murshid

A true Murshid is one whose own faith is sound enough for him to guide others to the Path. His status as a Murshid must be initiated by orders from his own spiritual guide, who may receive these instructions from preceding saints with the permission of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

This spiritual chain is known as a Tareeqa.

Firstly, true Murshid must be a Sunni Muslim who strictly follows the beliefs and creed of the Ahle Sunnah wal Jamaah, the only true path of Islam. He adheres to the ways of the Beloved Messenger, and is guided by the Noble Companions and the Salaf who follow after them. This is absolutely crucial, and without this, he is a danger to the Imaan of those who follow him and a cause for serious corruption in faith.

Imam Malik said,“Whoever studies jurisprudence (fiqh) and does not study Tasawwuf will be corrupted. Whoever studies Tasawwuf and does not study jurisprudence will become a heretic. Whoever combines both will reach the truth.”[Kashf Al-Khafa Wa Muzid Al-Abas, Vol. 1, page 341]

Secondly, he must be a knowledgeable scholar or Aalim, with a broad understanding in matters of Deen so that he is able to differentiate between forbidden (haram), acceptable (halal) and everything in between. He will be able to give sound judgements and guide the actions of his followers according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Thirdly, he must display the noble characteristics and etiquettes taught by the Beloved Messenger, and this indicates the purity of his heart. A great Murshid is one who teaches by practical example as well as through his words and advice. He is respected by all due to his character and he instills love for the Sunnah within the hearts of those who follow him.

Fourthly, his spiritual lineage (Shejra) must be that of a true Tareeqa, or spiritual chain; it must be connected, starting from our Master the Beloved Messenger of Allah, to Noble Companions, to Salaf and Awliya after them. Spiritual wisdom, teachings and guidance are passed down from the top in this manner, so one cannot gain any fayz or virtue without these connections.

Duties and Respect towards One’s Murshid

First and foremost, it is crucial for the mureed to have utmost love, respect and trust towards his Murshid. A seeker cannot gain even a grain of wisdom or blessing unless he has complete adab (respect) for his spiritual guide.

Notice the respect and honour the Noble Companions had for the Beloved Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). They had such deep love and respect for him that they would honour everything associated with him – his belongings, his mannerisms, places he visited etc. They would never raise their voice above his , they would never turn their backs towards him or even look at his blessed face except by glancing, due to their respect for him.

A mureed’s respect for his/her Murshid should be in accordance to the Companion’s level of reverence for the Beloved Messenger - he was their guide to Allah, as one’s Murshid is a guide to the Beloved Messenger.

It is also extremely important that the mureed adheres to the advice and instructions of the Murshid, without fail or hesitation. Of course, any advice given which is blatantly and without even a shadow of a doubt, in contradiction of the Shari’ah, must be opposed – but a true Murshid will never advise in such a manner.

Sayyidina Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani,“You should heed to the commands of the Shaykhs and act on them. They will guide you on the path of Allah since they have already travelled on this path.”[Al-Fathur Rabbani, pg. 150]
